I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Home button in app

Please add a button to instantly get back to the main page of the app- it can be laborious hitting back many times through all the viewed pages and I usually have to close and open the application.

  4. Tapping on your avatar should take you to your profile.

As of now accessing your profile means opening the hamburger menu on the top left and tapping on "Profile".
I believe it would be cleaner and intuitive to give that ability to the profile picture, instead of just having it sit there at the top of the menu with no functionality whatsoever.

    Cheers!

  5. In-app Article Reading

I love the "Recent News" section on the home page of the app, but I find it acutely frustrating that these links open in my browser app rather than in the Letterboxd app itself. I'm not sure how difficult this would be to change but I think it would allow for a more cohesive experience for mobile users.

  6. Watched films should be marked/highlighted

To better differentiate between watched and unwatched films on lists the icons should be somehow marked or highlighted.

  7. Add Sort By feature whilst editing lists within the Mobile App

On the desktop/web browser version of Letterboxd you can use the 'Sort By' function to rearrange all the films by Name, Release Date and Ratings. Having this feature within the app when editing a list would be extremely helpful, I have a couple of lists that are A-Z which I edit within the app but then have to go to the browser to sort them.

  8. Add a related films section.

For each film you read the description of or review, or don't review, there should be a related films section. At least 5 movies.

  9. Spell-Check Glitch

In the review section, when android does an automatic spellcheck and I try to select, edit, or delete that word, the entire review disappears (I suspect the entire log gets refreshed). Its happened several times and caused some frustration.

  11. Opt into Hide Ratings Graph

Hide ratings distribution on movies you haven't yet rated. Make it an opt-in feature. Have a "show ratings" button if you opt in.

To avoid biasing my enjoyment of the movie! If, for example, I'm using Letterboxd for movie recommendations - when people make lists of movies they suggest - I'd like to click on movies to read the plot synopsis and maybe look at the thumbnail, without seeing the ratings.

  12. Search for movies available for at home viewing

    Feature Request

I'd really like to be able to use Letterboxd as my movie entertainment driver at home, much like I do with Trakt for TV. Here is what I'd really love to see...

Set up search filters (like year, ratings, genre, whatever) for a list of movies (sorted by your choice) that are currently available on ALL/ANY/BLURAY (basically any way that you could watch a movie in your home). This should be easily configurable as a multiple item list.

Right now, you have to sort through each service, one at a time. And it frequently misses things. This would…

  13. Add logging ability to profile on mobile

This might be a personal thing, but I tend to look at my stats from the profile page and log my films, but find that I have to go to the popular page then log. Seems like a simple addition, bus add the green button to the profile page.

  14. let me keep my sort by preferences

I like to keep my watchlist sorted by release date but will always revert to recently added. Would like to keep directors filmography to only show feature films but this keeps reverting as well

  15. Allow us to find others with similar taste

Similar to RateYourMusic's "compatibility list" for finding other like-minded members to follow (I believe Last.fm has something like this as well).

A section could be added to the app or website that lists our most "compatible" Letterboxd users.

  16. Indicate on the app when a logged film was in your watchlist

I like logging films on the desktop website because if I log something that was on my watchlist the success message changes. It makes me feel good knowing I ticked one off.

I think there should be a similar notification on mobile.

  18. Lack of 'Rated' section on Android

Every movie on the Letterboxd website has a 'watched', 'liked', 'rated' and 'reviewed' section, but the app doesn't have the 'rated' one, where we can see other people's ratings sorted nicely.

  19. Date added filter on android

When you view your films on android, you cant sort them by when you added/viewed/rated them. Can you add that filter like the desktop site does?

  20. My android device will not let me add films to a list. I wanted to do a round up of all the films i watched in 2018 but there is no support

I cannot make a 2018 list of films. When i go to add film the screen is blank. Is this a glitch or paid section of the website?
