I don't really know what they mean.1 vote
Simply: “I’ve seen it” and “I liked it”. :)
Letterboxd is addictive as crack!. But you dont have clear notifications of a friend´s new reviews or updates.7 votes
WeÆll be adding FB and Twitter sharing once the site is public. The best way to get notifications about new reviews is to follow other users and then check your Activity page regularly — it works just like Twitter or Tumblr.
I've clicked seen on a lot of films but don't want to have to open each individual page to rate them. Is there a way to mass rate these films in a list format?1 vote
We’ve added a mass rating mode on the Films→Diary page, and intend to make this available in other areas eventually.
For example the movie "Hasta La Vista" (which is a Belgian, Flemish movie) won't appear in the search when you typ "Hasta La Vista").
As far as I can see, this is caused because this movie also has an English title on TMDb (Come As You Are), though it's also translated in Dutch.
Would it be possible to search for foreign languages on TMDb too, and preferably show them in the foreign language on Letterboxd too (at least the title)?
Letterboxd link for this movie: http://letterboxd.com/film/come-as-you-are/
TMDb link: http://www.themoviedb.org/movie/76451-hasta-la-vista4 votes
The site search (magnifying glass in the header) works to locate films by alternative/foreign title. The auto-complete when adding a film needs to do this also, this is planned for the future.
Under the "diary" tab of the "Films" section, it would be nice to have an option for small thumbnails, allowing one to see more movies on one page, as it is under the "watched" tab.1 vote
Currently, trying to change a date gives the following bug: https://skitch.com/marii/g554t/bug Not sure if this is the right place to report it, but I couldn't find a bug tracker.1 vote
We’re investigating the cause of this.
When you pull up a movie and the box pops up for the review and rating. If you already have reviewed it, it should have some way of showing up that it has already been reviewed by you so you not duplicate your work and have the same review multiple times on the same movie.
For example, DIRTY HARRY. I did not know I reviewed it so I posted my review and now there are two of the exact review on it.2 votes
On a film page, the panel on the right reflects if you have previously logged the film. The language also changes slightly, allowing you to add a review to an existing log/diary entry. We do not show the existence of previous reviews in the "Add a Film” modal popup, so perhaps this is an area we need to address.
Most reviews are and will be written in English. But once public accessible this site will (hopefully) grow, so will the number of reviews and diversity of languages used to write these reviews. On a movie detail I can see 3 popular reviews in 3 different languages for example.
Maybe an options where you can select in what language your review is written and an option (checkboxes) to select which languages you understand... and wan't to see.164 votes
We’ll monitor this as we grow, makes sense though.
As the title says really. When I'm viewing a list for inspiration for stuff to watch, it would be handy to see the average rating and/or number of likes without having to view the film's page.
Perhaps only displaying this in list mode would be sufficient, and use up some of the blank space in that view.1 vote
We’re planning to at least show the list owner’s rating in list detail view. We’re not fond of average ratings across the site, but will investigate other options for representing the best films, perhaps a sort option by popularity.
I've added my list of the top 250 imdb films and on the third page it appears several films are outputting twice (and using the same number in the list): http://letterboxd.com/jhuskisson/list/imdb-top-250/page/3/
Everything from 225 to 232 are outputting twice despite not affecting the number in the list or actually being inserted twice into the list1 vote
Hi Jamie, sorry you’ve struck a rather rare bug! We’re investigating the cause and will fix it asap.
In the profile section I would add a textbox for your favorite movie quote.
So you could write something like
"I'll be back" - The terminator
"yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker" - Die Hard
Then we could have a popular quote section ore something. Maybe this idea is useless, I don't know. But I think it got potential.9 votes
Like a timeline where you see whtever the last 4 or so reviews chronologically and that way you can dip in and out to see if you find someone you want to follow (or them follow you)1 vote
Maybe it doesn't have to be a singular email but once a week people you follow have reviewed x films1 vote
I find no value here. The last thing that interests me is reading other people's opinions of films. In general the online reaction times are too slow, the dark backgrounds make things hard to read, the interface fails to work well on my tablet, and I'm outta here.0 votes
How do you add something that is on TMDb but isn't showing up on Letterboxd1 vote
It is likely the film was first added with the “Adult” flag set to true. Email email@example.com and we can resolve this for you.
In the 'films' section of your profile you can order your films by popularity, could it be possible to integrate this function into the 'watchlist'. Tis could be handy for days you have no inspiration on what to watch.?258 votes
Watchlists can now be sorted into several orders. Manual control and categorization still in the works.
Several of my friends, including myself, share images of our ticket stubs when we see films in the theater. I'd like to be able to associate an image of my stub to the film.7 votes
I don't know if this counts as the same as spelling corrections, but if there's a way to make it read for centre/center, colour/color, etc?1 vote
Have a calendar of upcoming movies you want to see based on their theatrical release date. I know the watchlist, arranged by release date, is similar, but I think a calendar format would be more helpful.8 votes
Netflix is now running in the UK as of last week, but although I can associate my account just fine, it doesn't seem to work for adding films to the queue saying they are unavailable. I verified that the film is indeed available for streaming in my Netflix account.9 votes
Netflix doesn’t provide UK-specific API calls, but if/when they do, we’ll make those work.
- Don't see your idea?
