  2. Tag films, directors, actors and studios in reviews/comments

When I'm writing a review, I often want to reference other films the director has made or an actor has starred in. In the review dialogue there's now way to do this as far as I can tell.

Is it possible to have tags like on the individual movie page that would show other films? Maybe it could be a button that opens a list of actors/directors, so as not to take up too much room.

  4. Edit activity history

I "Liked" a review by accident. Now, even though I unliked it, my feed still suggests otherwise. Unless I missed it, it would be nice to have the option to manually delete everything on my timeline.

  5. On a film page, show me if my friends have it in their Watchlist

The ability to see which of my friends have seen/logged a given film is great; I’d love to also be able to see which of my friends wants to see the film, and then we could arrange to see it together. Great opportunity to take the social aspect of Letterboxd off the internet and into the real world.

  6. Functionality like canistreamit.com

I'd love to be able to go straight from letterboxed to some sort of streaming availability for a particular title. So functionality like Canistreamit or just straight integration with them...where you could click on a "look up title on canistreamit" button.

  7. Detect multiple viewings automatically and simplify viewings display

If you watch a film on March 9th and then watch it again on March 10th, the second entry should detect "I've seen this before" automatically. (I'm not sure what the purpose of that flag is.)

Additionally, the idea of a list of viewings should be attached to the general film page for your account. For example:

    http://letterboxd.com/usernme/film/evolution/

might have been seen on March 9th and March 10th, but the above link will only list "Watched March 9th, 2012". The only indication that there is a second viewing is in the sidebar on the right, with "You've logged this film…

Good feedback, cheers. The genesis of the “I’ve seen this before” button is to allow you to record the fact you’ve rewatched a film for which you’ve never given Letterboxd any previous information. However, as you say, the fact it doesn’t auto-populate is confusing.

In regards to the viewing numbering, I think we could certainly collect them all in a more obvious place as you suggest. The numbering has to work in reverse order, or permalinks to reviews would change every time you logged a film.

  8. Apps: show percentage of films watched for lists, actors, studios etc.

The Letterboxd app could show us the percentage of movies we have watched in a list, just like the site does.

  9. Sync my watched movies with Facebook.

Allot of mt friends still don't have of want Letterboxd. (It's a shame). Facebook released a new movie section.

Is it possible to push my watched movies to that facebook section?

  10. Add Watchlist icon to poster overlay

If you put the icon next to 'watched' and 'favorite' it would save the extra clicking and hunting to see if i already have the item on my watchlist. Also, it would save the extra clicks of having to put the item on watchlist, which is a frequently used option, like 'watched' and 'favorite'.

  11. Improve keyword relevancy when searching for lists

No matter what I search for, some "Edgar Wright" list is the first hit. That list can't possibly be the most appropriate hit for *every* single search term.

This site has a huge bias for huge lists over tight and focused lists. If I search for "girly movies", a list with 1000 movies scattered across all genres is not what I had in mind.

  12. Display original year of release, not the US year of release.

I have encountered several non-US films (which seldomly have their original title in the database, another issue which might need work), which had weird release years, sometimes decades apart from its original release year, just because these films happened to have a very late US release. Please do not pick the US release year as the default release year.

  13. Profile -> Films: Merge "Watched" and "Rated"

I think it would nicer if "Watched" and "Rated" would be merged in one page, with the thumbnail size of "Watched" (small posters). They would have the watched and rating icons, first overlaid, and second below the poster.

When I'm seeing friends' profiles, I want to see all this information at one look. And normally watched/rated overlap to a very high degree. I don't see the downside in merging these two view.

Also, I'd implement intelligent pagination (if you scroll down, a new set of films is added to current page) like Twitter and Facebook do, instead of discrete "Next/Prev"…

  14. Sort ratings by release

User's watched tab can be sorted by release, but when I want to then see what they think of for instance, films released last year, and I go to the ratings tab, it's not an option to sort by release date.

  15. Film search bar

I think it would be very convenient if the instant search used for adding films and on the Films page were located on every page. Using the standard search bar is much more complicated than this.

  17. Push notifications for favorite users

It would be a useful feature to allow a user to turn on push notifications for there favorite users, so they can always see their reviews!

This feature would be none-intrusive as they could be turned on/off

It would look as follows, somewhere on a users profile:

    Turn on push notifications?
O When a review is published
O Commented on one my Reviews

The list is subject to anything really!

    Best regards

  18. Lists on film page

If I were to go onto an individual films page, I would like to see if that movie is in one of my lists.

Good idea. The quickest way to do this right now is to click the Lists icon below the poster, then change the view to filter by You instead of everyone. Be good to have that on the page somewhere though, you’re right.

  19. Expose the film-third-party DIV on the mobile site

The links work on iOS devices. From my iPad using the full site, the URL handlers for the iTunes app and Netflix app work appropriately. My iPhone uses the mobile site, where these third party links are hidden. I can't think of a reason why. I would totally LOVE to start watching a film in the Netflix app on my iPhone just by clicking a link, rather than switching apps and searching for it.

  20. iOS app: filter/sort films by your own rating

Alternatively to be able to sort watched films by your own rating. Or both.
