Perform bulk actions (like mark watched or add to list) for all films in a page/list/collection/etc
For example currently trying to make a "Movies I saw in 2012" list and have to add each film seperately. Would like to be able to go into my movies and select multiple items at a time.
Adding all visible films on a page to a list is now available as a Patron feature on our website. The option shows in the sidebar or (on pages without a sidebar) it can be found in the disclosure arrow menu on the “+ Log” button.

Be sooooo much better if you could highlight the films you've seen from a list/page then click, log. I've probably seen thousands of movies in my life, logging them all individually is going to get real old real quick and will probably drive me off here. I'd be happy to pay the 20 bucks a year if that were added. If not well...

Can I bulk add movies to my general 'watchlist', rather than a different specific list?

Any idea when this is coming for pro users?
I'd love to make ranked lists for multiple years but don't because it would literally take hours. Instead I could just bulk add a filtered 'seen' list and then amend the list.

Yes! There should be a way to select multiple films using some kind of keyboard setting, just like there is on many other sites (like Spotify).
I don't want to select ALL films on a page, I want to select one from line one, two from line 2, one from line 4, etc, for example. You get the picture. That way we can go to other film lovers' pages and benefit quickly from their choices and expertise by adding certain films to OUR watchlist or other list. -

I don't see any option to bulk add films on any page to a list? The only thing that I can see is the cloning of lists. Is there some way to add all film's that i have rated to a list in one go? There is no sidebar and the only option under the "+ Log" button is one that prompts you to make a list from scratch, adding each thing individually.

In my opinion, this underestimated feature is the reason why the platform doesn't grow faster and reach it's bigger potential... The first thing most new users try to do is to have updated ours "Watched Movies", then we can enjoy the rest of the platform benefits, and keep updating for each new watched movie. As soon as I found out how hard and frustrating is to have all your "Watched Movies" updates, I kind of put Letterboxd aside... and I bet a lot of user do the same. If I had a easier way to do it, I would be a huge adept to the system and I'd start using daily and sharing to get more people into it. As it isn't possible (and seems, by the answers, that this implementation isn't really a priority), I just stoped using after a couple of frustrating minutes trying to mark movies as watched one by one.

@charlotte Our support team can change passwords in situtations like this, so if you feel you’re not getting the benefit of Pro otherwise, please drop us a line (help@letterboxd.com).
In terms of adding a large number of films, we have an importer that can consume a text file and turn it into watched films on your account. With Pro you can also add all visible films on a page to a list. Using these two functions together it would be possible to create a list, export it (in Settings) and then import it to your account with "mark as watched" enabled in the importer. It’s a little bit roundabout, but works.
More here on the importer: https://letterboxd.com/about/importing/
Otherwise it’s more or less a manual process to mark films watched as you see them around the site (a single click on the "eye" icon on a poster is enough to do it).

I am brand new to this app. I am a 54-year old movie buff. How do I add 1000's of movies I have seen in my life? I had to pay for the $19/year because it posted my Password as my username. The only way I could change it was to spend the extra fee.

I add a lot of movies to my watchlist but if we want to add all films from one director we have to add all one by one, and ther is no "like" or "add" for one director. we could have a list by director / or by actor that we can add

Make the ability to generate a list from a filtered diary, e.g. you van filter your diary down to just 2017 movies rates 3.5 stars or over and then make a list from that (instead of adding each film to a list manually)

There should be a “select/all” button so you have the option to select multiple movies at a time and list them as watched/watchlist etc. it would be a lot easier than selecting each one individually.

@John I’ll amend this to under consideration. We can see the benefit of marking a collection as watched (but this still only represents a small number of films, as most don’t belong to a collection at all).

Sad to see this declined. I am new to Letterboxd and I would like an easier way to add all the movies I've seen (or wish to see) rather than one at a time.

The website need to have mark watched list to a complete list not needing to mark watch individual films in a list.

especially for series. Like for Harry Potter, I'd have to search for it 8 times and add each film individually. There should be a way to select all and add all 8 at the same time.
