  1. [Mobile Device]: Sort movies by personal rating

I would love to be able, to sort my movies by my rating on my mobile device.

Somebody recently asked me: Hey, what are your 10/10 Movies and I'm like 'You know what? I just got letterboxd recently, let me just show you my list. It should be ... No it isn't here. Maybe here? Erm no it should be. Nope. Hm. I saw that on the website. It has to be in the mobile app I'm sure. Wait here - erm. No. Well I got my 10/10 films on the other Platform where I was before, wait, here it…

  2. make a 2019 Movie Challenge

It would be really cool if users could set themselves challenges how many movies they want to watch in a year. It could be let's say 365 movies a year, and as they watch and add the movies to the diary it would give them feedback how they are doing and add it to the special list. It would be cool to see the progress you are making as a percantage. Check out goodreads, they have this with books and it is really a good idea that motivates people to watch more movies.

  3. Film Titles

When browsing through your own or somebody else's films list you should be able to see the film name without having to hover over each "poster" decal.

  4. Add "Last Active" Date to Follower page

I'd like the following/follower pages to show the last date that a user was active. This would make it easier to avoid following people who are no longer contributing on the site.

  5. Fix your counting algorithm

After un-rating all of my films, it now shows that I have -1 films rated. Meanwhile it says I have 4 reviews when I in fact only have 3.

We cache a number of data points in the site, which occasionally leads to inconsistent totals. When the relevant cache expires, your totals will correct themselves. We’ll take a look and see if we can improve our handling here by not allowing negatives!

  6. Tags Bug

Hi, I really love the Tags feature on Letterboxd but there's a bug and it's bothering me somehow,

When you sort the tags either by frequency or name, the top list won't show the number. Hopefully you guys can work it out. Thanks a lot.

  7. List all the page numebrs.

What a great site! I've been looking for something just like this for a long time.

My suggestion is rather than having this: "1 2 3 4 ... 17", it'll be easier and more convenient if all the numbers were listed and we could navigate directly to a page.

And/or add an option where the numbers are replaced by the alphabet.

    Thanks!

  8. She's gotta have it (2017)

This is a series from the aclaimed Spike Lee. Even if there will be another season, it works itself and all the episodes were directed by Lee. It is like the Woody Allen's Amazon series and Twin Peaks The Return. Please put the series. Regards

  9. Broken List Display

It won't show all films in my list even when I set it to show all. They only appear when the list is set display in any order other than 'ranked.'

    What gives??

  10. A few glitches when it comes to lists

I've encountered two frustrating glitches when it comes to lists. First, with lists of a certain size (~2,500 films or more) I cannot edit them on the desktop browser without the website subsequently deleting every film on the list past ~2,500 (I can't remember the exact number). This problem does not occur when I edit lists on mobile. Secondly, I've found that for these huge lists, it also likes to skip a number. For my ranked list, which has 5,151 films on it, the list will skip 2,920, going straight from 2,919 to 2921. As a result of this, the…

The list editing limit on the web is about 3,300 we believe. We’re looking to adopt the same approach as in our app, but it’s not ready yet.

The missing list items is probably due to a film in the list having been deleted from the site (we routinely remove entries that TMDb removes for not being films). Adding and removing a film from said list should fix it, but obviously that’s not possible if you strike the first issue. Noted.

  11. Optimise Backgrounds for films/Better connectivity with TMDB

TMDB has tons of entries with backgrounds but they seldom transfer across to here, even when they've been added with the creation of the entry of the film. Also, just out of curiousity, how long does it take to transfer from TMDB to here? I put a few entries up on Thurs and they haven't come across yet.

We add backdrops manually for films based on the film’s popularity. An automated process doesn’t really work for this—we prefer to make aesthetic decisions about which backdrops work best in the space available.

If you have specific requests for great-looking images we’ve missed, please post them in comments here and we’ll see what we can do.

  12. Bookmark lists

Please make it possible to save or bookmark lists from other people. It sucks having to search every time for a given list.
Alternatively, show the liked lists on the profile under "lists", below the own lists.

  13. let me keep my sort by preferences

I like to keep my watchlist sorted by release date but will always revert to recently added. Would like to keep directors filmography to only show feature films but this keeps reverting as well

  14. Sort watchlist by popularity (past year, month, week)

My idea is being able to sort your watchlist by popularity, but like the Films section where it is by all time, past year, past month and past week. On a watchlist, I can only sort the popularity by All Time.

  15. Character section

You could make a section for characters, and why you like them or dislike them. my favourite character of all time is rachel from blade runner, and that section could allow me to explain why.

  17. adjust watchlist notification bar

First of all, beautiful site, I love it. When I'm browsing through the movies, adding films to my watchlist, the "added to list" bar appears at the top of the screen, and scrolls the rest of the page down. This looks nice when we're looking at the top of the page, however, when the bar's hovering over the middle of the page, there's no need for the page to scroll. In fact, when it does scroll, I've already moved on to the next film, and end up clicking where I didn't intend to.

Anyways, just a thought. Love the site!

  18. Why do upgrade at a time when everyone is sitting around wanting to watch films and be on Letterboxd?

And why not put upgrade or maintenance notifications on your website, apps or even send an email. I don’t use twitter or Facebook, and it’s taken me a long while to realise what is going on. More of a comment than a question of course. As when things are running the site is fantastic, just saying.

  19. Watchlist linked with listings, DVD releases.

I'd most like to know when a film is available to see either in theaters or by way of dvd.
