Search is being upgraded later today. You should get quicker reponses and fewer/no timesouts.

Phase one of notifications support is done (push support in our apps). Next step is to improve the web experience to show an equivalent list and indicator.
An error occurred while saving the comment We are planning an email digest to notify you of friends reviews. If you're on the site, so you cna use the Incoming activity tab to see what actions have been performed on your content. In-site notifications are on the drawing board.

TMDb caches its API content for six hours, which means we can’t update changes any quicker than that. We do have a method to perform a manual import for new additions, and will continue to improve the importing process where we can. We are investigating a bug that’s causing the search index not to update, and some film updates not to come across.
An error occurred while saving the comment @Mike Could you please try looking at those again and let me know if they’re updated? A full refresh has occurred at least once since we did our platform upgrade yesterday, which we believe should have fixed the broken import issue. If you spot changes which haven't imported, please let us know a few example film URLs.

Watchlists can now be sorted into several orders. Manual control and categorization still in the works.
An error occurred while saving the comment We allow you to filter your Watchlist by Netflix availability if you’ve attached your Netflix account — I know that’s just one use-case but it seems to be the chief one you mention here Lise.
Also, adding a film to a list does not remove it from your Watchlist. Logging the film or marking it as watched (after adding it to the Watchlist) are the only actions that result in it being removed.
There is obviously room for improvement in the Watchlist, but just wanted to clear up these potential misunderstandings.

Hi Oli, we’re investigating the cause of this and will have a fix for it asap. Please attach the URLs to the lists in question as a comment.
An error occurred while saving the comment It's basically an issue with incorrect caching of list numbers, which is why it resolves itself when the cache expires. Let me know if it persists.

We have an update coming which improves this immensely.
An error occurred while saving the comment There have been some updates to importing since this was posted. Have you tried a recent import, and did you strike the same issue?

We’ve completed the first stage of this, by changing the default diary view to a sortable table view. We’d love follow-up feedback on how useful this is, and if/how you’d like to see this view used elsewhere in the site.
An error occurred while saving the comment Smart thinking Rob. In our original designs we had a grid/list toggle on several views and we ended up iterating away from it. I feel now that we’re a bit more sure of ourselves in these views, we should look to re-introduce that. As you say, it will obviate the need for a separate ratings tab at the least, which is a good thing. Stay tuned!

TMDb does not provide an API for us to submit changes, which means there’s no easy way for us to make this a friendlier process right now.
An error occurred while saving the comment We pull every six hours, as that is how long TMDb’s API caches entries for. I’m not sure why artwork doesn’t come through, other than it may be a delay at TMDb’s end for some reason.
We are planning to add a mechanism to allow you to import films immediately if they are new additions to TMDb. We’ll hopefully get that into our upcoming release, if not it will follow shortly.

A good approach in theory, but the investment in time to implement it might not be the best use of our time. As more sites and people use TMDb, the quliaty of its data will improve. (I have a ticket in to add writers to our film listings.)
An error occurred while saving the comment @Tony This is less likely since its purchase by Fanhattan, but of course if something like this were to happen, we’d be able to keep running based on our current list of films while we switched to an alternative data source.

An error occurred while saving the comment @Tony There is a count of the number of times you’ve logged a film, it appears in the panel on the Film page and clicks through to a list of all diary entries. Might be useful to show this elsewhere?

Thanks for this, that is slower than we would have expected, we’ll take a look.
An error occurred while saving the comment Would you mind emailing the list you’re trying to import to help@letterboxd.com and we’ll do some testing on it locally. Thanks!

An error occurred while saving the comment @Christalla The best places to see reviews from your friends are in the Activity stream (all reviews from people you follow are collated there as they're posted) or via each film's page, where you can see reviews from friends if any have been written, and drill in for the full list.

Good feedback, cheers. The genesis of the “I’ve seen this before” button is to allow you to record the fact you’ve rewatched a film for which you’ve never given Letterboxd any previous information. However, as you say, the fact it doesn’t auto-populate is confusing.
In regards to the viewing numbering, I think we could certainly collect them all in a more obvious place as you suggest. The numbering has to work in reverse order, or permalinks to reviews would change every time you logged a film.
An error occurred while saving the comment @Renato We’ll shortly be changing the Activity view to show years.

An error occurred while saving the comment Do you mean show a trailer for the film? We do get trailer links for a huge number of films from TMDb, and we show these on the film’s page. Anyone is free to add trailer links to TMDb.org, if they find any missing.

If you've connected your Twitter account, you'll need to remove and reconnect if you change your Twitter avatar. If not, your avatar is set with Gravatar.com, so log in there to change it.
