@Christalla The best places to see reviews from your friends are in the Activity stream (all reviews from people you follow are collated there as they're posted) or via each film's page, where you can see reviews from friends if any have been written, and drill in for the full list.

Good feedback, cheers. The genesis of the “I’ve seen this before” button is to allow you to record the fact you’ve rewatched a film for which you’ve never given Letterboxd any previous information. However, as you say, the fact it doesn’t auto-populate is confusing.

In regards to the viewing numbering, I think we could certainly collect them all in a more obvious place as you suggest. The numbering has to work in reverse order, or permalinks to reviews would change every time you logged a film.

@Renato We’ll shortly be changing the Activity view to show years.

Do you mean show a trailer for the film? We do get trailer links for a huge number of films from TMDb, and we show these on the film’s page. Anyone is free to add trailer links to TMDb.org, if they find any missing.

We don't provide spell check at this time. I assume it's your browser which is doing this for you.

Add films to TMDb.org and we will import them from there automatically. If you've connected your Twitter account, you'll need to remove and reconnect if you change your Twitter avatar. If not, your avatar is set with Gravatar.com, so log in there to change it.

@Andrew, no that's not quite true. The notes on a list are visible to anyone, but only if they look at the list in Details view, e.g. http://letterboxd.com/sneak/list/i-wanna-rock/detail/

We are making some changes to make these notes also visible (in a popup or something similar) when in poster view.

But the original question is requesting a way for a list owner to set the default view for any list they create. If Mike prefers you to see his detail view above, he would check an option when creating the list which defaulted it to Detail view instead of poster view. This is something we’ve discussed and are considering.

You're correct Aaron, at present we only enable marking an entire review as a spoiler. We have a planned addition of partial spoilers using a <spoiler> tag in the review text or similar. Stay tuned.

Ken, this is not the expected behaviour! Could you tell us a bit more about what happened? Did you add all 15 then save and only five were there on refresh? Also if you could provide browser/platform/version details so we can try to reproduce the issue here. Thanks.

AdminMatthew Buchanan (CEO / Founder, Letterboxd) commented  ·

Right, thanks for the extra detail. Although we AJAX in the posters, etc, save is definitely required to store the list. This may change in future. We do have JavaScript protection if you try to navigate away from the page without having saved changes, so I wonder why that didn't protect you. We'll look into it further.

We'll also check out the tags not saving, probably an unrelated bug.

First up we're adding IMDb, Netflix and Delicious Library importing, so you can build lists and add your ratings from these services.

Hi Jamie, it appears to us as if the list was deleted by you. But … we still have the data. Would you mind emailing hello@letterboxd.com and we can work to restore the list for you, and remedy the bug.

To our knowledge it’s not possible to use our own login system for supplying feedback via UserVoice. The idea of perusing what’s been posted is to avoid duplicate feedback; but we appreciate that not everyone wants to spend time on this, so we try to merge similar ideas when we can.

AdminMatthew Buchanan (CEO / Founder, Letterboxd) commented  ·

Point absolutely taken :) It’s definitely a frustration if you’ve never used another UserVoice-enabled site.

You can add to your Netflix instant queue right now, by authing with Netflix on the Edit Settings page. We plan to improve our Netflix handling so it knows availability ahead of time. iTunes links are in the action menu on a poster, Amazon coming soon!

AdminMatthew Buchanan (CEO / Founder, Letterboxd) commented  ·

Thanks. We’ll do whatever the Netflix API allows us to, at present adding to your queue is about all we can do.
